{"id":1914,"date":"2023-11-06T14:11:17","date_gmt":"2023-11-06T13:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.camevisa.com\/?p=1914"},"modified":"2024-04-09T14:38:52","modified_gmt":"2024-04-09T12:38:52","slug":"cemac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.camevisa.cm\/en\/article\/cemac\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa exemption for CEMAC nationals to enter Cameroon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under the agreements concluded between Cameroon and the member states of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) as well as with Switzerland, these countries have benefited from a visa exemption to stay in Cameroon.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Reminder on CEMAC and its objective<\/h2>\n<p>Created in 1994, the <strong>Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC)<\/strong> aims to promote economic and monetary integration among its member countries. CEMAC is made up of two main institutions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Central African Monetary Union, responsible for managing the CFA franc, the common currency of member countries;<\/li>\n<li>the Central African Economic Union, which aims to harmonize regulations within member states in order to facilitate trade and the convergence of economic policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>CEMAC member countries benefiting from visa exemption<\/h3>\n<p>Nationals of CEMAC member countries \u2013 i.e. <strong>Congo\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddec<\/strong>, THE <strong>Gabon\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde6<\/strong>, there <strong>Equatorial Guinea\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\uddf6<\/strong>, there <strong>Central African Republic\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddeb<\/strong> and the <strong>Chad\ud83c\uddf9\ud83c\udde9<\/strong> \u2013 are now exempt from visa to enter Cameroon. They can simply travel to that country with a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months after their planned trip.<\/p>\n<h3>Swiss nationals also affected by the exemption<\/h3>\n<p>In addition to CEMAC countries, Swiss citizens <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">holders of an official passport<\/span> will also benefit from this visa exemption. This measure facilitates travel between these countries and encourages economic and cultural exchanges.<\/p>\n<h2>The e-Visa for Cameroon: a solution for other travelers<\/h2>\n<p>However, tourists, business travelers and members of the diaspora from other countries must obtain a <strong>e-Visa to enter Cameroon<\/strong>. This electronic visa is available for around 150 countries and was launched in April 2023 to simplify the process of obtaining visas without having to visit an embassy or consulate.<\/p>\n<h3>How to obtain an e-Visa for Cameroon?<\/h3>\n<p>To obtain an e-Visa for Cameroon, simply complete an online form and upload the following supporting documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a copy of the passport data page;<\/li>\n<li>a round-trip plane ticket;<\/li>\n<li>a copy of the international vaccination record;<\/li>\n<li>proof of residence in the country of residence;<\/li>\n<li>a birth certificate or a copy of the family record book;<\/li>\n<li>proof of accommodation during the stay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Consular fees are set at at least <span class=\"currency-convertor\" data-amount=\"167\">167,00 &#8364;<\/span> for an e-Visa valid for up to 6 months, allowing the holder to stay in the country for up to 180 days.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Under the agreements
